Great Western 2009

Since I started blogging in the late part of the year I thought I would still post anyway. In this semester (Spring 2009) I took a Sheep Fitting and Showing as a fun class and thought it would be useful later as an Ag teacher. In the class your given the option to show a school lamb at a jackpot show. A jackpot show for those of you who don't know are competitions for kids to show their animals. It's like a poker tournament, you go to the tournament and the better you do in your group/class the further you move up and at the end of the day the best player/shower wins the pot.
The whole week before hand we prepared the lambs, shearing, working them out, ect. So we traveled to Tulare and worked our butts off. We ended up dominating the final market class and won reserve supreme champion. We had a lot of fun and came home exhausted!!!

Waiting for the judge to enter the ring. (Market Class 3rd place)

We just entered the ring for our showmanship class.

My Showmanship Class. Final line up, I only took 8th out of 17.

MJC Sheep ended up dominating the market classes!
