One Crazy Night In San Francisco... (A Great Way To Unwind)

Tuesday started off kind of rough, I had a midterm in my history class and when I came out to my car I had a parking citation on my car. So far this day isn't going well. But all that changed when I got home from school, my brother had gotten four tickets from our Uncles for the Giants!!!

Another trip down the rabbit hole....

So my brother Joey, his girlfriend Roxana, my sister KC, and I all headed to San Francisco for the game. Getting there enough fun on its own, we originally going to stop at Wings Stop for dinner, but they had no wings. We were very disappointed (sad face) and went to Chili's instead.

We had a very weird intellectual conversation that would confuse many. The rest of the trip to the city was fun, we acted like tourists and took pictures out of the car of the bay and city.

As you can see it actually stuck my camera out the window to take these.

We get into the stadium and start our way to our seats and Joey took us in the wrong direction and wrong floor. One floor up and other side (laugh). So we make it to our seats and they are amazing, the club floor just the right level and unobstructed view of the field.

The game starts and right off the bat the second hitter sends two balls into the crowd. Throughout the game these guys were sending balls up into the audience they must have gone through at least 20 balls. You would think professional major league baseball players can hit a ball right :). And slowly the balls started to make their way over to our section. The entire time KC was getting a tiny bit freaked out that a ball might hit her and saying she'd use Roxana as a shield. Thankfully she had to go to the bathroom when she did, cause a baseball came into our section like four rows or isles in front of us. Gladly no other balls landed near us, they went back the other way now.

The entire time KC and I took pictures and rooted for Pablo Sandoval the big guy on the team. He can hit and catch, and I loved his intro music. And as we watched the game I said "I want to see Barry Bonds hit, whens he coming up?" My sister and brother turn to me and tell me he retired and he doesn't play anymore. Well I didn't know and they laughed at me and I was very sad, crushed really.
We were going to take a normal picture together, but I forgot the zoom was on. I thought it turned out good though.

We had a really FUN time and the Giants won, and I got a sovenier cup to boot. It was a relaxing, fun way to wind down the day.

Thelma and Louis Go To Disneyland...

Once again my family went down south to Disneyland!!! Most of the trips have themes like The Princess Trip or The Cowboy Trip... well this time our grandma and aunt (her sister) came with us for an kind of a women's retreat at Disneyland. Half way down to Disneyland my sister dubbed this trip Thelma and Louis Go To Disneyland!

This trip was different than most trips... I FINALLY GOT MY OWN BED!!!! It was so soft, yet firm and supportive. I sprawled and took up as much as possible. And don't even get me started on the pillows and linens. KC, mom, and the dogs slept in one room. And Grandma, Aunt Shirley, and I slept in the other. The room was very relaxing not only because of the oh so comfy beds, but also the sound machine Grandma brought with her, on the entire time playing Rain, and the air conditioner on full blast. It made it hard to not veg out on your bed.

One of our first rides was Big Thunder Mt. The entire time Aunt Shirley was gripping the bar for dear life. After we got of we realized, Grandma left something very precious in the safety pouch of her seat... her drink cup.

While KC and mom took care of running errands like picking up tickets or we broke up in crowds to head somewhere I got to babysit Thelma or Louis or both and take them to where they wanted to go or meet up where we were going to.

When mom was checking in for Fantasmic with our awesome friend Bora, Thelma and Louis and I sat and watched "Celebrate: A Street Part" from the handicap section. I tried to get us all in the picture but this was the best I got haha... a cast member was very accommodating he stood in the sun blocking it for me for 5 minutes.

Next we hit The Tiki Room and some enjoyment came from this mini adventure... Two things happened...

A.) Grandma and Aunt Shirley spent the entire time trying to get a Samoan guys attention because I thought he was cute, which was embarrassing.

and

2.) There was a great cast member who reminded us that there was drinky drinky and snackey snackey were allowed as long as we took it out with us. And that there was no smokey smokey, or ringy ringy, or flashy flashy. I was thinking this guy was funny, then half way through the "Sing Like the Birdies Sing" where the audience joins in the same cast member did a lap of dancing around the room. By this time I'm wondering who this cast member is??? Then coming out of the room I saw him closer up... an elderly man who is really animated and funny. Hmm... who can that man be??? Well I asked the other cast member if the other cast member name is @#*&%$ and of course I was right.

IT WAS MAYNARD!!!
For those of you who don't know (but any true Disney fan worth their salt would know), Maynard is a very famous Cast Member at Disneyland, if you ever get the chance to meet or see him you'll know why. He's very animated, hilarious, and outgoing. Also he is the only cast member with the name Maynard.

Overall the trip was a success. I got a few new shirts, a picture with the Mad Hatter for my blog, and a picture with Maynard, and a Mimi's french dip. I'm happy with that.

To The Baits Bakery of Horror We Go!

Well we've come to the end of yet another MoBand season. Wednesday is the last rehearsal and Thursday is the last performance. Well it's been tradition that on the night of the last rehearsal some of us get together and have a tailgating party in the parking lot.

Last year I made meatballs in barbecue sauce and it went over well. I wanted to make something this year and after we visited Edwards (a cake and candy supply store) I liked the idea of cupcakes that look like other food. This year I decided to make strawberry cupcakes that are frosted to look like Watermelons.

Well to start my mom told me that I needed to decide on what flavor I wanted to make and to make sure that we had it. I told her we didn't have strawberry so she said to go to the store after school and pick some up cupcake mix before coming home tommorrow. Well think about that for just a second... cupcake mix... doesn't exsist! And thankfully I realized that in like 5 seconds, and we discussed why we don't use cupcake mix, thats like asking me to go get you 500 ft of flightline, or 5 gallons of prop wash! They don't exsist. My sister oh-so-kindly pointed out that I would have gone to the store and asked someone for it after I couldn't fined it.

The life of a cupcake...

Obviously I mixed and made the batter for the cups, when mommy cake mix loves a daddy water, the three magical fairy eggs, and the butter stork all jump into a bowl for a wedding.

But during the batter making process I asked my sister what she did when she made cakes. She told me that instead of oil she used a stick of butter. So she got a bar of butter out for me, and I proceed to dump the water and cake mix into the bowl. Then the first mistake happened.... (enter dramatic music) I open up the wrapper of the bar and dump it into the bowl. Huh? My sister turned around after hearing the sound and asked me, "did you soften it first?" I said no and she laughed at me and said that I had to soften it in the microwave first, and now it was too late as she walked to her couch laughing. I took the bar out of the bowl and put it into a cup and stuck it in the microwave for 30 seconds. After all that I got it mixed and put it in a ziplock bag and KC showed me how to use that to fill the cups.

18 minutes later the 24 healthy baby cupcakes are born into the world! The turned out looking good!!! So far... but they're nakey...

Using my sisters dye colors that she recommended, I mixed Whipped Cream Cheese though as my sister mentioned over and over again I should have used a different frosting that was more solid like home made. I created red frosting for the eadable inside part whatever its called, and green frosting for the rinds.

First I frosted all the cupcakes with a pinkish red base layer. It took a while to gloob everyone with clothes but they were no longer nakey...
Next I place the green frosting into a ziplock baggie and frosted the green rind around the edges and they recieved their second layer of clothes. And lastly they were give accessories to wear in the form of upside down mini chocolate chips as seeds. They are finally dressed.

In the end they came out looking great! I was sure they were going to come out horrible while I was doing the rind for the first one. My sister finally found a way to make the green rings come out not cringeing but they do look spaztastic thanks to my skilled still hand! I think it gives it character...
The suffering of these cupcakes is finally over. Looking at the final product I realized that suckieness doesn't look as bad when it's in numbers. And I made them all ON MY OWN!!!

Now they will await they're doom...

(Disclaimer: With a LITTLE help from my sister, A LOT of "I told you (insert information that could have made this insanity a lot easier) ".)
